The KMC T9 is, in fact, the JAC T9 pickup that arrived in Australia in 2024. Its 2.0-liter diesel version was recently tested and evaluated by the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP), achieving very favorable results.
According to ANCAP’s standards, the JAC T9—marketed as the KMC T9—has earned a 5-star safety rating, making it one of the safest vehicles available on the market. As with other ANCAP evaluations, the vehicle’s safety was assessed through various crash scenarios and measured against four key criteria.
In the event of a crash, the T9 pickup provides protection for up to 85% of adult occupants, 87% of child occupants, and 87% of vulnerable road users such as pedestrians, motorcyclists, and cyclists. The vehicle’s safety equipment score has also been reported at 89%.
The T9 comes standard with six airbags (front, side, and curtain) designed to protect the head, neck, and chest of occupants. Other safety features that significantly enhance driving safety include autonomous emergency braking (AEB), lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, and an advanced speed assist system (SAS).
The stability of the T9 is ensured by systems such as ABS, EBD, CBC, EBA, BA, ASR, TCS, TRC, and DSC.
Vulnerable Road User Crash Test
The KMC T9 sold in Iran is a 2023 model that complies with Euro 6 emissions standards. It is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 221 horsepower and 390 Nm of torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission delivers power to all four wheels.
